Writing Group: Second

The meeting was actually on 2/1/2011, but I couldn’t get around to writing about it til now.

Tuesday night was blizzard night so I wasn’t sure who all would show up. We had rolling black outs in our area. I ended up at a friends house, using their internet. They word warred, we did a character study with the Mary Sue Litmus Test, and then while they were working I built The Word Warrior’s Blog and had them submit their work. I still need to e-mail the members who weren’t present so they know what to do. I plan to do that after I update this. I also set up the Word Warriors twitter account, which is @tikitytak.

I still have a lot of work to do and a lot of stuff I need to tweak, but its starting to move along smoothly.

I’ve done all this work and they seem genuinely happy, but I still feel like a bit of a failure. All this work I’ve been doing, I’ve barely even looked at my own writing in months. I need to do something. I’ve been getting new ideas for that Labyrinth fanfic I’ve been wanting to work on, but I really need to work on my novel.   xD

  1. You are NOT a failure. The group is wonderful, you’ve done a huge amount of work and you should be very proud of yoruself. If you need help moderating, so that YOU can actually benefit from the group too, I’m more than happy to be your “Number One”. We can switch off moderating nights, or I can moderate and coordinate the critiques, or come up with writing exercies (I’ve taught creative writing classes at the local park district), even perform website maintenance tasks, with a little instruction. Just let me know what you need. I may be just a monkey… but I’m a trainable one!! 🙂
